Homeschool Dance Program

Beginning in January 2026, Paradigm will be offering dance classes to the homeschool community. Below are details and the link to sign-up!

The goal of the Paradigm Homeschool Dance Program is to provide students with a joyful, age-appropriate introduction to dance that nurtures physical confidence, creative expression, discipline, and character, while supporting Paradigm Schools’ mission of learning how to think, not what to think.

Through structured movement, foundational dance techniques, and performance-based learning, students will:

• Develop body awareness, coordination, and healthy habits

• Practice focus, perseverance, and self-discipline

• Build confidence and self-expression in a supportive community

• Learn to collaborate, listen, and respond thoughtfully to instruction and music

• Experience the arts as part of the Great Conversation of ideas, culture, and human expression

The program emphasizes growth over perfection, encouraging students to reflect, improve, and take ownership of their learning while modeling respect, gratitude, and service—core values of the Paradigm Patriot community.

Session Dates: January 26-May 17, 2026
15 weeks total
Classes are once a week
Tuition is for the entire session
No class March 30-April 3

• Dance Basics 1 – Basics of Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Popular/Hip Hop
• Dance Performance Basics – Ballet, Jazz, Tap with Stage Directions, Audition Prep & Presentation

All groups will participate in a performance recital at the end of the session (date TBA).
One make-up per month is allowed.

Instructor: Jas Petrell

Jas Petrell is a dance educator, choreographer, and mentor with over 20 years of experience teaching in a wide range of educational and community settings. She directs the dance program at Paradigm Schools and is excited to be launching the homeschool dance program, nurturing physical confidence, creative expression, discipline, and character through joyful movement and foundational technique.

Jas holds a degree in Psychology from Brigham Young University and has taught performing arts for school districts, non-profits, community theaters, and residential youth programs. Her approach blends technical skill, growth mindset, and emotional awareness, helping students develop both as dancers and as individuals.

Whether scholars are brand new to dance or have years of experience, Jas’s goal is for every dancer to feel seen, supported, and proud of what they create — building confidence, connection, and a lifelong appreciation for the arts within a welcoming community.
