Have Questions about Paradigm Schools?

Are you looking to learn more about our South Jordan charter school? At Paradigm, we want you to feel like you’re making the right choice when it comes to your child’s education. Below, you can find some answers to some of the most common questions we get asked about.

What is a charter school?

A charter school is an independently run public school that has more flexibility in its curriculum. Typically, charter schools commit to obtaining a specific educational objective. For more information about charter schools and their purpose, check out our blog!

Do charter schools require tuition payments?

No! Charter schools are still public schools, meaning you don’t have to pay tuition.

How do I enroll my student into Paradigm Schools?

We operate on a lottery system. This is a common enrollment process for charter schools and it keeps everything fair and organized. You can enter your child into our lottery by submitting a new scholar application

What grades do you serve at Paradigm Schools?

Our preparatory school serves 7th and 8th graders, while our high school serves grades 9th – 12th.

Why do you call teachers mentors and students scholars?

Plato had Socrates and our scholars have the help and mentoring of their teachers, often in a one-on-one setting. That’s why we refer to teachers at Paradigm Schools as mentors and our student’s scholars.

Do you offer school tours?

Yes! We want both you and your student to get a feel for our school before applying, fill out this form to set up your school tour.

For a more immersive experience, you can send your student to shadow a current Paradigm scholar. Prospective scholars can shadow a Paradigm Scholar they already know or we can set you up with a scholar!

Do you have a school uniform?

At Paradigm, we do enforce a dress code. Learn more about our dress code policy and what our school uniforms entail

Do you have a sports program?

Yes! Our scholars get the opportunity to compete with other schools through the Utah Schools Sports Association (USSA), an all-inclusive program that provides a legitimate high school sports experience to schools. For more information, check out our sports page!

Do you accept homeschooled students?

Yes! Our school was founded by a group of homeschooled families. We remain homeschool friendly and offer flexibility to all our Paradigm families. We’ll do our best to cater to any idea you may have.

What makes your charter school unique?

Paradigm Schools is unique in that it has deliberately attempted to make a challenging education accessible to all students. We want our scholars to be able to follow in the footsteps of great scientists, artists, and thinkers as they gain the knowledge they need to make their mark as contributing members of society.

As a parent, will I still be involved in my student's education?

We see ourselves as resources to parents. One of our foundational principles as a school is that parents are the primary educators for their children and that schools are to serve as a resource to families.

Our commitment is to be the best resource to families we can be by working with families to provide high-quality educational experiences through our unique program for the scholars who attend our school.

  • I love Paradigm. My children have never been happier, and have found a love of learning that was missing in their previous education!

I went to Paradigm all through high school. Best experience ever. Not only did it help me focus on my strengths, but it also prepared me for college with its challenging curriculum that makes you think outside the box. The mentors there care about each of their students individually, and want nothing more than the students’ success.
