Advance your students’ learning and high school education at Paradigm Schools. We’ve made it our mission to help our scholars prepare for both college and their futures through our unique curriculum. We encourage a culture of growth and our high school scholars can gain a solid foundation in language arts, math, science, social studies, and more.
Part of what makes Paradigm Schools unique is that our goal is to teach scholars how to think, not what to think. Our founders Val and Celia Johnson wanted to find a school that was founded on principles of freedom and classical educational philosophies, thus opening our doors in 2006.
We believe that learning happens best when it is self-led, which is why our schools offer multiple modes of learning and a multidisciplinary approach to cater to each individual scholar. We want your students to learn in the best way for them, not anybody else. It is our hope that students will take what they’ve learned from their Paradigm education and apply it to their future and community.
Scholars will learn the core subjects through the liberal arts learning method, which includes the Socratic discussion method and developing critical thinking. Our scholars learn how to develop the skills necessary to become well-rounded citizens who can take part in the great conversation of the ages.

Part of what makes our curriculum and education so unique is that we used relevance-based learning which allows for much faster learning. This style of learning engages our scholars in discussion and hands-on applications. It applies relevance to educational principles and makes learning come alive.
At Paradigm, all employees are referred to as “mentors”. This helps to instill the principle that we are all learning together as lifelong learners, and also that scholars are mentored in their personal pursuit of learning. Our mentors recognize that each scholar learns at their own pace, and with smaller classroom sizes, they can help our scholars with their individualized learning.
Yes! We can give your child a chance to shadow one of our other scholars who participate in the Prep Academy, so they can discover what the school year would be like for them!
Yes! Our scholars get the opportunity to compete with other schools through the Utah Schools Sports Association (USSA), an all-inclusive program that provides a legitimate high school sports experience to schools.
We believe that parents are the primary educators of their children and that as a school, we are a resource to families. Families have the freedom to make decisions about their children’s education and that’s why we offer flexibility for our scholars and their families. If it can work, we’ll make it happen.
I love Paradigm. My children have never been happier, and have found a love of learning that was missing in their previous education!
Julia H.I went to Paradigm all through high school. Best experience ever. Not only did it help me focus on my strengths, but it also prepared me for college with its challenging curriculum that makes you think outside the box. The mentors there care about each of their students individually, and want nothing more than the students’ success.
