Graduation is Here! Paradigm’s Outdoor Celebration

Education is the kindling of a flame, not the filling of a vessel..”

– Socrates

Many consider graduation as a culmination of learning, but at Paradigm, we see it differently. We are constantly learning and growing, no matter how old we are. Learning is a lifelong endeavor. Graduation is not an ending, but a major springboard to life after high school and a celebration of our time together.  Paradigm’s graduation is here, and we are excited to be celebrating our 2021 graduates. We are proud of our scholars and look forward to what the future holds for them!

Paradigm’s Uniqueness

Paradigm was founded with the mission to teach children to become passionate about learning. We have worked hard to create a space where our scholars are cared for, listened to, and treated as individuals. Fundamentally, we are all just human beings and each of us learns differently. It is our goal to set up our scholars for success.

A few of the things that make Paradigm unique include:

  • Smaller Class Sizes: With smaller classes, scholars can focus better on their education and get the mentoring they need to be successful.
  • Curriculum of Original Works: Textbooks teach students what to think, while original texts give students their own perspective.
  • Mentors: We call our educators mentors because they are who guide our scholars through their education.

At Paradigm, we have fostered an environment of growth where students can discover themselves. By the time our graduates leave, we want them to know who they are and who they want to be. We teach our scholars how  to think, not what to think.

Valedictorian & Salutatorian

Because of how Paradigm represents itself, we attract students who want the chance to own their education. We are proud of our scholars—we have a lot of talent here! We also have scholars who go above and beyond, and they certainly deserve recognition and to be rewarded for their efforts.

Unlike most schools, we recognize both our valedictorian and salutatorian. When choosing our valedictorian and salutation, we use a formula that includes their overall GPA, ACT scores, mastery projects, college courses, and regular courses. Furthermore, the scholar is an example of a true patriot and represents Paradigm with pride.

Our Graduation Celebration

This year, we will be celebrating our 2021 graduates on May 28th at Ashton Gardens, Thanksgiving Point. Due to the ongoing pandemic, we will be hosting this year’s graduation outdoors. Graduates can purchase as many tickets as they would like and the ceremony will be held in a picnic-style setting.

This outdoor amphitheater is right next to a beautiful waterfall. Here, we will share a tribute slideshow for our graduates which includes a baby photo and current photo of each graduate. We will also enjoy a music video performance, student and staff speakers, and the following awards will be distributed:

  • The Patriot Award (Boy and Girl)
  • Valedictorian and Salutatorian

For anyone who won’t be able to attend in person, we will also be live streaming the event on our youtube channel.
